Safety Technician

Job Summary

Associates will be responsible for developing procedures and design systems to prevent people from getting injured.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Federal, state, local and corporate safety compliance and reporting. 
  • Preparation of internal safety reports and conducts safety plant audits.
  • Reviews work conditions, recommends corrective actions, sees through to completion and ensures sustainability of corrected items. 
  •  Review existing machine guarding for compliance safety standards.  Create or coordinate the implementation of new guarding where necessary. 
  • Conducts incident and near miss investigations with Supervisors and other support groups.
  • Pay will be based on Associates’ Tier 1 or 2 status and at a Group Leader Rate.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Prior safety knowledge or safety committee experience is a plus.
  • Good work history and positive attitude who wants to make a difference in changing the safety culture.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness, proactive nature in the area of safety.
