Maintenance Supervisor

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Manages all aspects of Maintenance Dept and personnel
  • Leads the upgrade of maintenance systems and facilities to handle any new business to the plant
  • Manages departmental resources to support daily manufacturing as well as growth and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives, and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals
  • Participates in the development of staffing plan and labor budgets
  • Controls department and capital expenditure budgets
  • Participates in the production meetings to ensure goal alignment and priorities
  • Actively participates in Maintenance personnel skill development
  • Works with Engineering Dept on installation projects of new plant equipment ensuring safety sign-offs are completed, quality levels are maintained, and product specs are met
  • Participates in problems solving teams to conduct root cause analysis  and develop action plans
  • Ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • May be required to train others

Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)

  • A technical degree is preferred in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 4 years shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment including leadership assignments

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • 2 years of recent maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment

Supervisory Responsibilities

            This position has direct supervisory experience.  It will provide the team with direction and guidance to ensure projects are prioritized and planning processes provided are in place to ensure project deadlines are achieved.  This includes selecting and hiring associates, training and evaluating associates to enhance performance, development and work product, as well as, addressing performance issues and making recommendations for personnel actions.

Physical Demands/Environment

            While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
