POSITION: Production Maintenance Technician (2 openings), 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for support of production processes at the Product Support Team or Plant level to include root cause analysis and problem solving for all line operations; improvement modifications for both process and equipment; performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production machines and equipment. Works with other department associates to maximize performance and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Analyzes production process or part problems and works to devise and implement solutions and improvements.
Trouble-shoots electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems on production machines. Communicates verbally and in writing any deficiencies in the production equipment to supervisor, engineer, or other associates. Involves bending, stooping, crouching and reaching to access maintenance locations and lifting items weighing up to 70 lbs.
Uses relatively high degree of attention and concentration to maintain and rebuild pneumatic and hydraulic systems throughout the facility. Repairs electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and their associated color-coded wires and components.
Installs, maintains and replaces parts on automated production equipment such as switches, chucks, spindles, belts, chains, etc.
Drives a forklift and Man lifts / Scissor Lifts, as well as operates hand and shop power tools. Works in generally good production, warehouse and loading dock conditions, wearing required personal safety equipment.
Follows safety, company, and industry policies and procedures.
Knowledge – Requires good written and verbal communication. Must have basic computer literacy skills and a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and practical applications. Position requires good problem solving techniques. Requires ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints while troubleshooting maintenance tasks. Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. with experience in and / or knowledge of industrial maintenance and infrastructure equipment maintenance. Must be able to be certified to drive a forklift and man lifts.
Mental – Requires a relatively high degree of concentration and attention to detail to inspect and / or analyze a problem or process issue and correct them properly. Requires positive attitude and desire to contribute to overall process and plant success
Physical – Requires walking and standing a majority of the time, lifting weights up to 70 lbs. frequently, stooping and bending.
Environmental – Requires capability of performing essential job functions in generally good plant, warehouse and shipping areas, wearing required personal safety equipment.
Manual Dexterity – Requires using hands, arms and/or feet for operating lifts, power tools, hand tools and office equipment.
Audible/Visual – Requires the ability to communicate, written and verbal, with all departments to identify and correct process issues and maintenance requests. Requires the ability to read written instructions, diagrams and other documentation and operate office equipment such as computers and facsimile machines. Requires the ability to differentiate color-coded wires.
